Zaharie Ahmad Shah (born 31 July 1961 – disappeared 8 March 2014) was a Malaysian pilot who was the pilot in command of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. He was 53 years old at the time of the plane's disappearance and had been with Malaysia Airlines since 1981, having accrued over 18,000 flying hours.
